Festive Sportive York
Festive Sportive York is a gran fondo-style mass-participation ride in York, Yorkshire, scheduled for December 20, 2026, covering roughly 163 miles.
About riding in the United Kingdom
Britain's cycling is defined by rolling country lanes, short steep climbs and changeable weather. Conditions can shift quickly, so rain gear and layers are sensible even in summer. Sportives are popular from spring through early autumn.
Estimated finish times
The route is about 163 miles. Here is the moving time at a steady average speed. It is a flat-ground baseline: climbing, wind, stops at aid stations and group riding all move the real number, so treat it as a starting range.
| Average speed | Moving time |
|---|---|
| 10 mph | 16h 17m |
| 12 mph | 13h 34m |
| 14 mph | 11h 38m |
| 16 mph | 10h 10m |
| 18 mph | 9h 03m |
Most recreational riders average 12–16 mph on rolling terrain in a group, and less on hilly routes.
