Epic Gran Canaria Riu Hotels
Epic Gran Canaria Riu Hotels is a gran fondo-style mass-participation ride in Gran Canaria, Spain, scheduled for February 12, 2027, covering roughly 72 miles.
About riding in Spain
Spain offers year-round riding, with big mountain climbs in the Pyrenees, Sierra Nevada and Picos de Europa, plus warm coastal and island routes. Summer inland is very hot, so events lean toward spring and autumn, or start early.
Estimated finish times
The route is about 72 miles. Here is the moving time at a steady average speed. It is a flat-ground baseline: climbing, wind, stops at aid stations and group riding all move the real number, so treat it as a starting range.
| Average speed | Moving time |
|---|---|
| 10 mph | 7h 09m |
| 12 mph | 5h 58m |
| 14 mph | 5h 06m |
| 16 mph | 4h 28m |
| 18 mph | 3h 58m |
Most recreational riders average 12–16 mph on rolling terrain in a group, and less on hilly routes.
