CF Cycle for Life Central Florida
CF Cycle for Life Central Florida is a multi-day bike tour in DeLand, Florida, scheduled for November 8, 2026, covering roughly 100 miles.
About riding in Florida
Florida is very flat, so wind and heat matter more than climbing. The central ridge has some rolling terrain, and coastal routes can be exposed to strong headwinds. Winter and early spring are the best riding seasons, while summer brings heat, humidity and afternoon thunderstorms.
Estimated finish times
The route is about 100 miles. Here is the moving time at a steady average speed. It is a flat-ground baseline: climbing, wind, stops at aid stations and group riding all move the real number, so treat it as a starting range.
| Average speed | Moving time |
|---|---|
| 10 mph | 10h 00m |
| 12 mph | 8h 20m |
| 14 mph | 7h 09m |
| 16 mph | 6h 15m |
| 18 mph | 5h 33m |
Most recreational riders average 12–16 mph on rolling terrain in a group, and less on hilly routes.
